Deobandis believe that Allah (swt) uses disingenuous arguments against Christians.

Say, “My Lord has only forbidden immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed – and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know.” (Qur’an 7:33)

Those who have been following this blog know that recently I have had an exchange with (apparently) a Deobandi.   They are a denomination in Islam that believe that Allah (swt) can lie.   They believe that Allah (swt) can do anything.  (apparently even the absurd and divinely logically impossible).

First of all, it should be understood by anyone reading this post that there has to be, must be certain properties /qualities/attributes that make God, God.

So using the understanding of Allah (swt) that Deobandis (and those like them) have they end up believing that Allah (swt) uses silly arguments against the Christians.

“The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look at how they are deluded.” (Qur’an 5:75)

To say that Allah (swt) can do anything means that Allah (swt) can eat food (but simply chooses not to).

So we can either believe that:

A) Allah (swt) cannot eat food. This is not possible for Allah (swt).

B) Allah (swt) can eat food but simply chooses not to.

So this means that the argument employed above against the idea of Christ Jesus or Mary being defied is disingenuous.

It doesn’t mean that Mary and/or Jesus are not God (simply by them eating food). If we are going to follow the logic of the Deobandis and all others like them.

It simply means in the case of Christ Jesus that he very well could be God in human form, eating food.    Thus, the author of the  Qur’an has used fallacious reasoning and disingenuous arguments against Christianity (or at least the Docetic denominations).

May Allah (swt) guide the Deobandis and those who hold their theological presuppositions.  May Allah (swt) bring them closer to the Qur’an al Kareem so that they may study it and understand the error of their ways.

“Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look at how they are deluded.”

what rubbish you spout , using illogical logical , sort your own aqeedah , prove to me from the quran only how many rakats there are in the prayer

    • Totally unrelated to the post.

Instead of being triggered why not offer something of substance?

As regard the number of rakats the Quran does not mention. It is from the mass transmitted Sunnah of the Blessed Messenger (saw).

      Brother Ashfaq,

Salaam to you but this really isn’t the place to bring up the issue of how many Rakat’s there are in the prayer!

I myself disagree with many things brother ‘primaquran’ says but it doesn’t mean I should be rude and disrespectful. There’s a thing called manners and etiquette’s that we should bear in mind before making such comments.

      Peace 🙂

Salaam alaykum my brother in Islam,

May Allah bless you and your family. I thought I’d add my 2 cents worth to this article Insha’Allah.

I completely agree Akhi! Some so-called Muslims including the Deobandi’s have some pretty twisted beliefs, and so do the Salafi’s. The concept of Allah doing anything can only be something that is Textually and Rationally befitting to Him!

    You said:
“First of all it should be understood by anyone reading this post that there has to be , must be certain properties /qualities/attributes that make God God.”

Exactly rite my brother!! God is God only because we recognize Him through His Divine properties/qualities/attributes. For example, Allah is Al-Aleem (All- Knowing). So, is it ever possible for God to not know something? even to temporarily forget something? If so, then He is NOT God!

God is Al-Baseer (All-Seeing). So, is it ever possible for God to not see something? Or to be blind to something? If so, then He is NOT God! It is as simple as that!

God CANNOT be All-Knowing and ignorant/forgetful both at the same time!

To end the argument with a Christian, just simply ask him:

Do you believe God is All-Knowing?

He/she will obviously answer Yes. Then ask them:

Then, can God ever forget something or be ignorant of something?

They will obviously answer NO, of course Not!

Well, according to the Gospels it says:

“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only” (Matt. 24:26; cf. Mark 13:32).

Jesus (A.S) did NOT know the hour! He said no one knows it except the Father. So, if Jesus does not know about the most important event in the history of mankind, then he CANNOT be God! Period! End of story!!

But I guess like the Deobandi, the Christian will still bend and twist things to make it fair seeming to them. Inna HudAllahi Huwal-Huda!

Allah guides whom He wills bro so I don’t see why we should even bother with such people.

    Take care bro.

    Salaam.

    Abdullah
