Jesus the God/Man ?

“The Messiah, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger. Many messengers had come and gone before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They both ate food. See how We make the signs clear to them, yet see how they are deluded from the truth!” (Qur’an 5:75)

The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” (Matthew 11:19)

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” (Colossians 2:9)

Our Christian friends tell us that Christ Jesus was fully God and fully man. However, what is meant by the phrase “fullness of the deity dwelled in bodily form“?

Was only part of “Jesus” divine?

Was “Jesus” fully divine?

Did he deity dwell/reside/ in the soul of “Jesus”?

Did Jesus have a human soul? All humans have souls.

Did God only reside in one molecule, one atom or one quark of “Jesus”?

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

The Greek word for flesh is ‘sarx‘ (σὰρξ) a mortal human being, flesh and blood.

Now when it says Word became flesh it does not mean that the word now changed into flesh to the point that it stopped being ‘The Word‘. As Colossians 2:9 indicated above.

So did the divine merge fully with the flesh of Christ Jesus or only partially? Was all of “Jesus” divine or was only some of “Jesus” divine?

So let us be very clear when we are talking about the human being. The following is a graph of the chemical composition of the human body.

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” (Colossians 2:9)

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

In order for Jesus to be both fully God and fully man continuously and consistently he would have needed to maintain the exact same chemical composition all throughout his incarnation. This is disproved by the fact that “Jesus” was a baby and than grew and became a man. This means his hair, nails, grew. It means his cells replicated and some of the skin died.

“About 330 billion cells are replaced daily, equivalent to about 1 percent of all our cells. In 80 to 100 days, 30 trillion will have replenished—the equivalent of a new you.” Source: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/our-bodies-replace-billions-of-cells-every-day/

In other words “Jesus” was a walking, living, cycle of death every day. How that “deity” was being shuffled around among the endless cycle of cellular growth and death taking place inside of “Jesus” is anybody’s guess.

We know that it is very reasonable that “Jesus” cut or trimmed his hair as well as his finger nails, toe nails etc…

“And when eight days were completed for the circumcision of the Child, His name was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.” (Luke 2:21)

The Word‘ became ‘sarx‘ (σὰρξ) a mortal human being, flesh and blood. So according to the Christology of “Jesus” being the “God/Man” once the penis was circumcised than what happened to the ‘Word‘ that was contained with in that part of “Jesus”? Did it retreat from it (death) into the living cells of “Jesus”? So that “Jesus” became even more divine than he was previously? Presumably the foreskin was discarded. A piece of the “God/Man” was tossed aside. A part of “Jesus” was not needed for the ultimate sacrifice?

99.9% of “Jesus” died for you not the total “Jesus”.

“And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.” (Luke 22:44)

Some Christian scholars surmise that “Jesus” had a condition called hematohidrosis.

Hematohidrosis is a rare condition characterized by blood oozing from intact skin and mucosa. Signs and symptoms include sweating blood, crying bloody tears, bleeding from the nose, bleeding from the ears, or oozing blood from other skin surfaces.

“Then Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe  and went up to him again and again, saying, “Hail, king of the Jews!” And they slapped him in the face.” (John 19: 1-3)

So here we are presented with even more conundrums. It looks as if “Jesus” shed his blood not on the cross but due to a medical condition, or he shed his blood on the whip and a crown of thorns. That not withstanding, what is happening to all this ‘divinely infused blood‘? Does the ‘Word‘ retreat from it (death) into the living cells of “Jesus”? So that Jesus became even more divine than he was previously? Were those drops of blood divine? That God as the ‘Word‘ was in a ‘liquid form‘ for a while until he dried up?

“Jesus wept.” (John 11:35)

Tears are composed of water, salts, antibodies, and lysozymes (antibacterial enzymes)

So when “Jesus” was crying what happened to the ‘Word’ that was in the tears? Were those drops of water divine? That God as the ‘Word‘ was in a ‘liquid form‘ for a while until he dried up?

Then comes this little chestnut about the death of “Jesus”. Now Christians claim to be able to tell us when, where and how “Jesus” had died; but they are not able to answer “what” or “who” or “how much” died on the Cross? We discussed this in our article here: https://primaquran.com/2020/08/23/the-death-knell-of-christianity/

HOW MUCH OF “JESUS” DIED ON THE CROSS?

Would a Christian say that “Jesus” totally died on the cross? That “Jesus” partially died on the cross? That just the right amount of “Jesus” died on the cross.

“The Word became flesh sarx‘ (σὰρξ) and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

So did “Jesus” die because medically speaking we are technically dead when.

An individual who has sustain 2 either (1) irreversible cessation of circulator and respiratory 3 functions, or (2) irreversible cessation of all functions 4 of the entire brain, including the brain stem, are dead.

Now if Christians want to say that ‘The Word‘ only incarnated in the heart, lungs or brain of “Jesus” then that is fine and well. That would mean that “Jesus” was not fully God. He was only partially God.

So if “Jesus” had irreversible cessation of circulatory and respiratory functions or was brain dead than he was medically dead. However, in terms of the ‘God/Man‘ he wasn’t totally dead.

Not all cells are ‘dead’ when an organism dies,” senior author Peter Noble of the University of Washington and Alabama State University told Seeker. “Different cell types have different life spans, generation times and resilience to extreme stress.”

Christians are going to have to rephrase it to “Jesus” died “just the right amount” to cover your sins.

Now what happened to ‘The Word‘ that was in the corpse? Either ‘The Word‘ departed the corpse or it remained dormant in the corpse.

If it departed the corpse and re-entered it two days latter. It means that ‘The Word‘ left Jesus forsaken on the Cross. God as ‘The Son’ did not die. It also means there were two incarnations. Because if ‘The Word‘ departed “Jesus” at the moment of death it came back into him as a corpse, thus, a second incarnation.

However, if ‘The Word‘ did not depart “Jesus”. It just hung around ‘some where‘ in the corpse of Christ. If it is the case that the ‘The Word‘ did not depart the corpse of “Jesus” than, there really is nothing to say that any other physical part of “Jesus”, (hair follicles, blood, tears, foreskin, fingernails, toenails, or other dna) also did not have the ‘The Word‘ present in it as well.

This also raises questions about quantum “Jesus”. We now know in Physics that at the quantum level there are sub atomic particles that phase in and out of material existence. So what would that actually mean to say that ‘The Word‘ became material?

“The Messiah, son of Mary, was no more than a messenger. Many messengers had come and gone before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They both ate food. See how We make the signs clear to them, yet see how they are deluded from the truth!” (Qur’an 5:75)
