Matter: The other name for Illusion.

Know that the present life is but a sport and a diversion, an adornment and a cause for boasting among you, and a rivalry in wealth and children. It is as a rain whose vegetation pleases the ungrateful; then it withers, and you see it turning yellow, then it becomes broken orts. And in the world to come there is a terrible chastisement, and forgiveness from Allah and good pleasure; and the present life is but the matter of illusion.”(Qur’an 57:20)

I honestly believe that this book should be required reading in any class on theology for Muslims. It is so important because the fundamental belief of atheists is a material world.  It is a world that is only believable if it can be measured by a tool or an instrument. If you break down the fact that we live in a world of perception you will have a much easier time in dealing with Atheist and/or Agnostics.  There was a very interesting article recently: https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/quantum-human-scale-ligo-mit-nature-a9596056.html

In this article they said,

“The movements are the result of the way the universe is structured when seen at the level of quantum mechanics: researchers describe it as a “noisy” space, where particles are constantly switching in and out of existence, which creates a low-level fuzz at all times.”

Now, this is an admission that either:  A) They do not have the tools/instruments that can detect this phenomenon.  B) That there is a layer of reality that is not material. In other words, it will never be observed by us because it cannot be detected by a physical tool or instrument, yet it exists.  I would definitely recommend reading this. It may say 263 pages however, there are quite a number of illustrations so I would say the book is half that size in length.
