Why do Ibadi take knowledge from Sunni and Shi’i scholars?

“He gives wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever has been given wisdom has certainly been given much good. And none will remember except those of understanding.” (Qur’an 2:269)

Bismillah ir rahman ir raheem,

As the above verse clearly states: “Allah gives knowledge to whomever he wills.”

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The word of wisdom is the lost property of the believer. Wherever he finds it, he is most deserving of it.”

Source: (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2687)

Allah (swt) gives inspiration even to the insects.

“And your Lord inspired the bees: “Make ˹your˺ homes in the mountains, the trees, and in what people construct.” (Qur’an 16:68)

Some where some one was paying close attention to a drop of water, perhaps the morning dew upon the grass when they noticed something extraordinary. The drop of water seemed to magnify or enhance the texture of the blade of grass. Thus, making what maybe challenging to see more clear to see.

Allah (swt) has blessed our Sunni and Shi’i brothers with giants in their fields. So when we find them say something that does not go against the clear truth of the Qur’an and the Sunnah and indeed is in alignment with it than why should the believers not take from other believers?

    Salaam akhi,

May Allah bless you and your family. I hope you are having a great Ramadan and may Allah accept from us.

Just wanted to say that I’m intrigued by the fact that ‘Ibadis’ take their knowledge from BOTH the Sunnis and Shia! SubhaanAllah – A sensible approach indeed!

Personally, I am neither a Sunni or a Shia, nor do I follow a Madhhab. But if I were to follow any school of thought, it would surely be the Ibadi school. Mainly because the Ibadi are so in tune with the Qur’an and reject anything that even remotely contradicts it within the traditions.

Even though we don’t see eye to eye, I admire you for your great work and dedication my brother.

May Allah increase us in knowledge and wisdom.

    Peace,
    Abdullah

“May Allah increase us in knowledge and wisdom.”

      Amin!

      Make du’a for the ummah!
      Peace,
