Ramadan Day 13

“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves,” (Qur’an 13:11)

﷽

Ramadan Day 13: Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.

*Heart health: accompanying the people of righteousness*
There is no doubt that accompanying righteous people will reflect their attributes on the Muslim, their heart purity will reflect on his heart, their actions on his actions and their worship on his worship.

From their signs:
1- Their sincere commitment to Shari’a (the sacred law) and having no apparent sin or innovation.

2- Their busyness with their own flaws instead the flaws of others, and their commitment to enjoining good and forbidding evil.

3- The beauty of Iman appears on their faces. An inner light is unmistakable. A calm in their presence is felt.

4- Their care for the issues of Muslims.

*Intercession*
Intercession is a merit given by Allah in the day of judgement to whoever he wills, by permitting them to ask forgiveness to someone’s sin, raise the grade of someone or hasten their Jannah entry and it’s for prophets, and it can be for others like martyrs, but the general intercession is with the prophet Mohammed peace be upon him, as he will intercede with Allah to hasten the relief and then the believers will enter the Jannah.

intercession is not for the one who insist on sinning, rather it’s only for those who have sincerely repented. Allah says this in many verses like:

“Guard yourselves against the Day on which no soul will be of help to another. No intercession will be accepted, no ransom taken, and no help will be given.” (Qur’an 2:48)

and

“He ˹fully˺ knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them. They do not intercede except for whom He approves, and they tremble in awe of Him.” (Qur’an 21:28)

Question from our Muslim sister:

assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
I want to know if it is permissible to wear products (wallets shoes bags) made from the skin of cattle, but which was slaughtered not in a halal way
I’m also wondering if it’s possible to wear things made from pig skin because I read that it’s completely unclean
I am very greatful for your help and answer
JazakumuLlahu khairan !!!

Response:

Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Animal skins, after being tanned and dried, are considered completely pure, whether the animal was slaughtered or not, and whether the animal is permissible to eat (like cattle) or forbidden to eat (like lions).

Therefore, there is no harm in using such skins for permissible purposes.
However, an exception is made for pig and dog skins — and according to some scholars, monkey skins as well — as they are considered impure (najis) and thus not permissible to use.

And Allah knows best.

May Allah (swt) Guide the Ummah!

May Allah (swt) Forgive the Ummah!
