Sharīʿah (شريعة)
Literal meaning: “Path to the water” (a clear way or path).
Meaning in Islam:
Sharīʿah refers to Allah’s divine law — the totality of moral, ethical, social, and legal rules revealed by Allah for human conduct. It covers all aspects of life: worship, family, commerce, crime, politics, and ethics.
