“The Messenger of Allah is certainly a good example for those of you who have hope in Allah and in the Day of Judgment and who remember Allah very often.” (Qur’an 33:21)
“And perform the prayer, and pay the alms, and bow with those that bow.” (Qur’an 2:43)
“And obey Allah and obey the Messenger. But if you turn away, then Our Messenger is responsible only for conveying the message clearly. (Quran 64:12)

﷽
It has been attributed to the Blessed Messenger (saw) in the following hadith:
Malik ibn Al-Huwayrith reported: We came to the Prophet, (saw), while we were young men and we stayed with him twenty nights. Then the Prophet considered that we were anxious to see our families, so he asked us who we had left behind to take care of them and we told him. The Prophet was kindhearted and merciful, and he said, “Return to your families, teach them, and enjoin good upon them. Pray as you have seen me praying. When the time of prayer arrives, then one of you should announce the call to prayer and the eldest of you should lead the prayer.” Source: (https://sunnah.com/bukhari:6008)

Can you also post a Sahih hadith that unequivocally proves that Allah’s Messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, would ALWAYS pray with his hands on the sides. At least 10 Hadiths from Sunni collections mentioned He would fold his hands in Salah.
Thank you for question Abu Zahra. There are many people who are unfortunately and needlessly anxious that we are reviving the way that the Blessed Messenger (saw) performed his prayers.
Now the nature of your question assumes that there are sahih hadiths that state that he did other than leaving the arms to the side in the prayer. However, as regards giving you a SINGLE “Sahih” hadith without any problems that states that the Blessed Messenger (saw) placed his hands above the navel, on the chest, below the navel we unfortunately cannot.
There are in fact way more than 10 hadiths from Sunni collections.
In fact the confusion of Ahl Sunnah goes so far as for some of them to say the hands go back on the chest after ruku!
So the ummah currently has the following as a practice.
1) The majority of the ummah (not having done rigorous investigation) follow clasping hands BEFORE ruku.
This could be on the chest/above the navel/below the navel. They are not sure.
Than the minority of the ummah (which would include us) leave the hands to the side BEFORE ruku.
AFTER ruku the majority of the ummah follow the Ibadi’s in leaving the hands at the side BEFORE sujud.
Where as there is a minority among the Sunni whom AFTER ruku place the hands on the chest/above navel/or below navel BEFORE Sujud.
