Salafis Bilal Philips and Assim al Hakeem lie about Imam Malik and the prayer.

“And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know it.” (Qur’an 2:42)

﷽

In Islam, one of our most cherished principles is to cover up the faults of others. To be tactful in how we correct each other. Yet, this needs to be balanced with those who are recalcitrant and unwilling to admit to their errors. When their publications and social media become widely viewed, the layperson takes at face value what is said than something must be done.

One of the more unfortunate things is that those who are claimants of a movement called ‘Salafiyah’ are being woefully uninformed about the prayer of the Blessed Messenger (saw). Namely, by saying that praying with arms to the side is some sort of innovative practice. When in reality that IS the default way the Blessed Messenger (saw) prayed!

One of those who have circulated this misunderstanding is the Salafi preacher Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips. Bilal Philips has otherwise benefited the English-speaking Muslim community through his media lectures and audio series.

We as human beings make mistakes. We hope that one day Allah (swt) will encourage him to correct this error.

In his book he says:

“He was severely beaten in the year 764 CE by the order of the Ameer of Madeenah, because he made a legal ruling that forced divorce was invalid. This ruling opposed the ‘Abbaasid rulers’ practice of adding in the oath of allegiance given to them by the masses the clause that whoever broke the oath was automatically divorced. Malik was tied and beaten until his arms became severely damaged to such a degree that he became unable to clasp them on his chest in Salaah and thus he began the practice of praying with his hands at his sides according to some reports.”

Source: (pg. 78. The Evolution of Fiqh Islamic Law & The Madh-habs By Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips International Islamic Publishing House.)

“Some reports” such as? Doesn’t Abu Ammenah Bilal Philips have to give his evidence or are we just supposed to accept what he said? No asterisk *, no footnote with a source or reference. Unforutnately, Bilal Philips gives us nothing.

Can such a claim be verified by and in any of the traditionally relied upon books of Islamic history? No! One will be hard-pressed to find any evidence substantiating this argument.

Remember what Allah said:

“Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidence, and the guidance, which We have sent down after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allah and cursed by those who curse.” (Qur’an: 2:159)

So where is the proof?

Secondly, how could Imam Malik not have enough strength to clasp his hands on his chest but still be able to do the tabkir—, go into ruku, and go into sajdah and to push his hands up from sujuud, since Imam Malik’s view is that the knees go up than the hands after sajdah?

What about all the other Tabieen who prayed the way Imam Malik did? Did each one of them have their arms broken as well?

Also, don’t you think Imam Malik would have said as plain as day, “Hey everyone, as you know, I’m only praying this way because my arm was pulled out of my socket, don’t follow me, follow the Blessed Messenger!”

Next are the flat untruths coming from Assim al Hakeem.

Listen to what Assim al Hakeem says @0:25

Some scholars say that the followers of Imam Malik started doing this when he started praying like that. Why would Imam Malik, Imam Dar Al Hijra, pray like that way? He knows that the Sunnah of the Prophet (as) as in the hadith of Wail Ibn Hujr (May Allah be pleased with him) was to put the right over the left on the chest and this is the sunnah of all the prophets. Why would Imam Malik do this? The reason was that at some time or period of history there was a disagreement between the Muslim ruler and Imam Malik; which happens throughout history with all scholars. This happened with Imam Ahmad. This happened with Imam Abu Hanifa. This happened with uh Imam Ibn Taymiyah, who died in prison. All great scholars are tested; and usually if they don’t kiss the backside or they don’t polish shoes, they will be thrown in jail. This is the norm. So there was this disagreement which Imam Malik refused to compromise the religion, which led then to a Muslim ruler to flog him and beat him in prison. That led to an injury to his arm which prevented him from being able to lift it so he began to pray with his arms to his side. Some of his disciples and students (apparently who were not very smart followed that way of prayer instead of going back to his books, to his hadiths that he used to teach to learn how the prophet used to pray. And they mimicked that and made it part of their religion, or part of their school of thought. Which is totally bogus. Which is totally not true. And Ali my friend as a Muslim we have to go back to the references, Qur’an and Sunnah. Not to what Tom, Dick and Harry did (with all due respect to THEM), but Allah ordered us to follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah. And people differ. People have their different preferences, and understanding of things. So we are not to get closer to Allah by THEIR understanding rather by the Qur’an and the Sunnah whereby the understanding of the three favourite generations, the companions, tabi’een and tab’tabi’een.”

Let us analyze what Shaykh Assim al Hakeem says.

“Some scholars say.” Who are these scholars? What do they base their statements on?

“Some of his disciples and students (apparently who were not very smart) followed that way of prayer instead of going back to his books, to his hadiths that he used to teach to learn how the prophet used to pray. And they mimicked that and made it part of their religion.”

Let us do a little thought experiment. Let us assume the arms were broken, so he prayed like that story checks out. So this means….

Group A

Imam Malik was negligent.

Direct students of Imam Malik started doing that. Imam Malik was derelict in his duties and said nothing while his students did innovation in their prayer. This is a huge evil to attribute to Imam Malik.

Which of these students, who were “apparently who were not very smart” started this innovative practice? Was it:

  • Asad ibn al Furat ?
  • Ibn al-Qasim ?
  • Sahnun ?
  • Ashhab ibn ‘Abd al-Aziz ?

Group B.

The students of Imam Malik’s students innovated this practice.

All of Imam Malik’s students were faithful and diligent in following the Sunnah. However, the students of these teachers decided to start practicing sadl in honour of Imam Malik being tortured. So then, when they started to do this, why didn’t their teachers (the students of Imam Malik) stop them? Why would they do what their teachers were not even doing?

ABU HANIFA, IMAM MALIK, IMAM SHAFI’I, IMAM AHMAD = (TOM, DICK, AND HARRY) ?

Not to what Tom, Dick and Harry did (with all due respect to THEM), but Allah ordered us to follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah. And people differ. People have their different preferences, and understanding of things. So we are not to get closer to Allah by THEIR understanding.”

The shocking and dismissive statements directed at some of his own great scholars are most unfortunate. This is nothing new for the Salafi preachers. In one breath he speaks of Imam Malik as ‘Imam Dar Al Hijra‘, and in the next breath he is just a ‘Tom, Dick or Harry‘.

I guess we as Muslims, those that follow the Ibadi school, shouldn’t be shocked when some of the more uneducated among the ‘Salafiyah’ call us dogs, and kafir. After all, these men will refer to their own Imams as ‘Tom, dick or harry’. This makes for an unfortunate discourse.

May Allah (swt) guide them and us to a way and course that is just.

Shaykh Assim Al-Hakeem has yet to correct his lie concerning Imam Malik. However, he has stated in public it is no problem if you leave your arms to the side.

Salafi Preacher Assim Al-Hakeem”You can pray with arms to the side.”

“Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example for him who hopes in Allah and the last day and remembers Allah much.” (Qur’an 33:21)

﷽

Malik ibn al-Huwayrith reported: The Prophet, (saw), said, “Pray as you have seen me praying. When the time of prayer arrives, let one of you announce the call to prayer for you and then let the older of you leader the prayer.” Source: (https://sunnah.com/bukhari:631)

Salafi Shaykh Assim Al-Hakeem repeated a whopper of a lie about Imam Malik (and the way he performed prayer). He has yet to publically correct his position. He has also yet to provide us any evidence of his claims.

This is the article with his previous (incorrect) position parroting the mistake of Salafi preacher, Bilal Philips.

Shaykh Assim al-Hakeem metions about praying with the arms to the side.

Shaykh Assim Al-Hakeem says: “The, the famous dispute among Muslims rather to put my hand over the belly, on the chest or under the belly. Akhi if you pray, Al hamdulillah! Five times a day on time in the masjid it’s o.k where you want to put your hand. There are a hadith that stated, hadith Wail Ibn Hujr (May Allah be pleased with him) that the prophet used to put the right over the left on the chest. Now there are other hadiths that state that he used to put it, them under the navel or on his stomach. Wherever you feel good about do it! It is a Sunnah, SO EVEN IF YOU DON’T PUT YOUR HANDS ALTOGETHER, IF YOU JUST PUT THEM ON YOUR SIDE YOUR PRAYER IS VALID. YOUR PRAYER IS CORRECT. But, you should try your level best to follow the most authentic hadith and I, uh, uh, uh believe that the most authentic hadith which Al Albani (May Allah have mercy on him) also authenticated states that you put them on the chest.”

If you are keen to learn the prayer of Blessed Prophet (saw) may the following be helpful for you!

Response to Salafi Preacher Assim Al-Hakeem On praying behind an Ibadi

“So High above all is Allah, the King, the True. And do not hasten with (reciting) the Qur’an before its revelation to you is concluded, and say, “My Lord, improve me in knowledge.” (Qur’an 20:114)

﷽

This entry was written as a response to a well-known Salafi Preacher by the name of Assim Al-Hakeem.

He has unfortunately uploaded a video in which he attacks Ahl al-Haqq wa-l istiqama (The People of Truth and Straightness). This is possibly due to one of three reasons.

Reason 1 is due to his lack of understanding.

Reason 2: maybe he made these statements about the Ibadi school while under the influence of alcohol. That is because Assim Al-Hakeem told young people all over the world that he “drinks beer” and that he is “proud of that.” So it is possible he made his comments while under the influence of intoxicants.

Reason 3 is this: Assim lied about his own Sunni Imam (Imam Malik) and it is not above him to willfully lie about the Ibadi or tell half-truths. May Allah (swt) guide him to a more just course.

Reason 1. His lack of understanding. No proper knowledge.

“Mabrouk says, who are the Ibaadiyyah? The Ibaadiyyah is a faction of Al Khawarij. It is one of the 72 sects that the Prophet (a.s) warned us from, dividing into. They follow the Khawarij; but they are a softer copy of the hard core Khwarij. And this what called Imam Ibn Taymiyyah (May Allah have mercy on his soul) to describe them as being the gay part of the Khawarij. They’re so gay compared to the Khawarij, that gives takfir and to have bloodshed. They are close in the attributes of Allah (Azawajal) to the Mutazila. So they deny allot of Allah’s attributes. They have their own misinterpretation when it comes to the scale and to the siraat. And to the things related to yom al qiyyamah (the day of judgement). They also believe that those who commit major sins are kafir, like the Khawarij. But they, it is is permissible to marry them. So they believe that those who are not from the Ibaadiyyah like us, they can marry from us and they can inherit from us. But we are, we will be in hellfire forever. And they have so many weird things. They believe the Qur’an is created and it is not one of Allah’s attributes. They believe that it is impossible to see Allah in paradise. So it’s a deviant cult. And allot of the scholars say that you must not pray behind them as the prayer would not be accepted and Allah knows best.”

The response to the Salafi Preacher Assim Al-Hakeem.

First point.

Assim says about us, “They’re so gay compared to the Khawarij, that gives takfir and to have bloodshed.”

Yet, he is the one who says, “And allot of the scholars say that you must not pray behind them as the prayer would not be accepted and Allah knows best.” Talk about takfir!

Second point.

Assim says about us,

They have their own misinterpretation when it comes to the scale and to the siraat. And to the things related to yom al qiyyamah (the day of judgement).” He did not elaborate on what those things were. So it is challenging to comment upon what he did not elaborate upon.

Third point.

Assim says about us,

So they deny allot of Allah’s attributes.” What attributes do they think we are denying? It is actually Assim Al-Hakeem’s group who make up attributes about Allah (swt).

Ibn ‘Uthaymeen stated:

“We believe that Allah, The Most High, has two real eyes. And this is the saying of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamā’ah. Abul-Hasan Al-Ash’aree said: The saying of Ahlus-Sunnah and the As-hāb Al-Hadeeth is that Allah has two eyes, without saying ‘how’ just as Allah has said, “[It was] sailing under Our Eyes.” (54:14).”

Source: (See Izālatus-Sitār ‘an Al-Jawāb Al-Mukhtār li-Hidāyatil-Muhtār of Ibn ‘Uthaymeen, p. 22; also Al-Maqālāt Al-Islāmiyyeen 1/345)

There is nowhere in the Qur’an or the Sunnah that says Allah “has two real eyes.”

The following video is for your educational purpose.

A typical conversation between us Ibadi and those who claim we deny the attributes of Allah (swt) usually goes like this.

Fourth Point.

Assim says about us,

They also believe that those who commit major sins are kafir, like the Khawarij.”

If you want to read our understanding of this, based upon the Qur’an and Sunnah you may see the following:

https://primaquran.com/2022/10/04/the-position-of-the-ibadi-school-on-muslims-who-commit-major-sins/

Sixth point,

Assim says about us,

But we are, we will be in hellfire forever.”

This is quite a statement considering Preacher Assim believes in the hadith of the 73 sects. So we could ask Preacher Assim. “Are the Ibadi part of the saved group or not?” We don’t say simply because someone is not Ibadi, they will be in hellfire forever! That is false. Please see what our noble Shaykh says here:

https://primaquran.com/2022/10/04/do-only-ibadis-go-to-heaven/

Seventh point,

Assim says about us,

They believe the Qur’an is created, and it is not one of Allah’s attributes.”

That part is true. The Qur’an is created. It is not an attribute of Allah (swt). Although Allah (swt) does have the attribute of Speech. You may see our position here:

Eighth point,

Assim says about us,

They believe that it is impossible to see Allah in paradise.”

That part is true. We stick to the evidence of the Qur’an & Sunnah. No one will see Allah (swt). Not in this life, not in the life to come.

Reason 2. Assim Al-Hakeem was under the influence of alcohol. He was intoxicated when he made such statements.

“I drink beer, and I’m proud of that. But the beer I drink before you quote me for that is from Saudi Arabia, and it has 2% maybe 3% alcohol, and it’s legal, and it’s halal. One says, “Oh, it has alcohol!” Akhi, If I drink half a pack, nothing happens.”

Now the individual who made the video above chooses to use the pejorative ‘Wahabi’. However, I prefer to use the term ‘Salafi’.

Now, obviously, images of Muslim youths breaking their Ramadan fast with a bottle of 3% Hoegaarden beer and dates do not sit well with many more sensible Muslims.

There was lots of backlash and so Assim issued a retraction, clarification, kind of, sort of, not really….
The Preacher Assim continues…. “The presence of alcohol, if you consume a large amount of it, and you are not intoxicated, this means that it is permissible to consume.” Because why is wine haram? Because if you drink a lot of it you become intoxicated. If I have a barrel of whatever substance, and I’m not wasted, I’m not intoxicated, then drinking a little bit is o.k. But, if I have a bottle of a liquid of a drink and if I drink the whole bottle, I become wasted, I become drunk, then a single drop of it is haram.

Preacher Assim is following the view of the famous Salafi Shaykh, Saleh Al-Uthaymeen. The same one above who says that Allah (swt) has “two very real eyes.”

May Allah guide us!

Shaykh Saleh Al-Uthaymeen gave a controversial beer drinking fatwa.

Please do not listen to people like Shaykh Saleh Al-Uthaymeen or Preacher Assim Al-Hakeem! Please listen to someone sensible like Shaykh Mufti Menk on this matter!

Reason 3. Preacher Assim Al-Hakeem lied about a Sunni Imam (Imam Malik); and it is not above him to willfully lie about the Ibadi or tell half-truths.

You read the following and you decide.

Preacher Assim Al-Hakeem otherwise makes himself available to people via social media. It is not sure what his methodology is or the school that he follows. However, he is to be warned against because he gravitates towards a flippant and non-sober approach to many issues that demand sobriety.

May Allah (swt) guide him and us!

“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided.” (Qur’an 16:125)

May Allah (swt) Guide the Ummah.

May Allah (swt) Forgive the Ummah.

Complete Salah (Prayer) based only on Sahih hadith impossible?

“Certainly you have in the Messenger of Allah an excellent exemple for him who hopes in Allah and the latter day and remembers Allah much.” (Qur’an 33:21)

﷽

Malik ibn Al-Huwayrith reported:

We came to the Prophet (saw) while we were young men, and we stayed with him twenty nights. Then the Prophet considered that we were anxious to see our families, so he asked us who we had left behind to take care of them, and we told him. The Prophet was kindhearted and merciful, and he said, “Return to your families, teach them, and enjoin good upon them.” Pray as you have seen me praying. When the time of prayer arrives, then one of you should announce the call to prayer and the eldest of you should lead the prayer.

Source: (https://sunnah.com/bukhari:6008)

One of the most contentious issues among Muslims, more often than not, has to do with the way the Blessed Messenger (saw) did his prayers. This video below is well worth the listen.  It is done by someone who follows the Hanafi school of jurisprudence, the Sunni denomination of Islam.

What he is explaining is that it is impossible to find a ‘Sahih’ hadith for every single act that is done in the prayer.  He then argues that this is why for some Muslims in the Sunni denomination they decide to follow a school of jurisprudence.

The truth of the matter is that the prayer was established by the Blessed Messenger (saw). It is a mass transmitted sunnah.  The hadith are written records for those who need to furnish proofs for things that were found to be objectionable. Things that stood out as different needed to have proof or evidence, more so than something people picked up as mass practice from those who preceded them and from those who preceded them.

The hadith in book form is a documented sunnah. Sometimes the documented sunnah captures the living sunnah and other times it does not. A proof of this is that the schools of jurisprudence believe that certain acts of the Blessed Prophet (saw) were either abrogated or abandoned altogether.

Kindly see our article here where we expand upon how the sunnah is received.

His observation especially when it concerns the opening of the prayer only strengthens the position of the Ibadi school.

May Allah Guide the Ummah.

May Allah Forgive the Ummah.

Imam ash-Shafi’i Seeing Allah in The Hereafter

But no! In fact, their hearts have been stained by all ˹the evil˺ they used to commit! Undoubtedly, they will be sealed off from their Lord on that Day. Moreover, they will surely burn in Hell.” (Qur’an 83:14-16)

This rather unfortunate clip was uploaded by Sheikh Asrar Rashid, a U.K based Imam. In this clip Sheikh Ramadan Al Bouti quoted from what Imam ash-Shafi’i saw as evidence on ‘seeing‘ Allah (swt).

Believing in seeing Allah Almighty means that Allah (swt) is a thing that can be seen. However, Allah (swt) said: “There is nothing like him.” Secondly, believing that Allah Almighty can be seen means Allah is a limited thing. Visual things are created things.

If we look at those people who say Allah (swt) can be seen where did they reach? They arrived at talking about the structuring of Allah Almighty. They describe Allah Almighty as a temple, as a body, and all this leads to shirk.

On the other hand, these people still insist to follow Jewish beliefs. We do not know why. But it’s a side effect to Islamic belief, the reality and the truth. Jewish were insisting to see Allah Almighty but look what Allah Almighty said and what he has done to them. SubhanAllah in what they say and believe. Praise be to Allah (swt).

“The People of the Scripture ask you to bring down to them a book from heaven. But they had asked of Moses [even] greater than that and said, “Show us, Allah, outright,” so the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf [for worship] after clear evidences had come to them, and We forgave them for that ˹after their repentance˺  And We gave Moses a clear authority.” (Qur’an 4:153)

So let us look at the evidence. The evidence that Sheikh Asrar Rashid brought from Ramadan Al Bouti who brought it from Imam Ash Shafi’i.

But no! In fact, their hearts have been stained by all ˹the evil˺ they used to commit! Undoubtedly, they will be sealed off from their Lord on that Day. Moreover, they will surely burn in Hell.(Qur’an 83:14-16)

This verse does not mean seeing but means waiting the mercy of Allah. We don’t know why they don’t read the verse before and after these two so that they can understand. But the truth is that they search for a chance to support this Jewish belief.

The fact that this verse was quoted out of all possible shows the weakness of this position.

Look at the following statement attributed to Imam Ash Shafi’i:

“If I were not absolutely certain that I was going to see my Lord in the Hereafter, I would not worship Him in this life.”

May Allah (swt) guide us! May Allah (swt) save us and keep our faith from being perverted or distorted. How they can ascribe to the Imam the belief of the atheist! Worship of Allah (swt) is conditioned upon seeing him! Where is this at in the Qur’an and Sunnah?

Well, I am certain that none of us will see Allah (swt) in the Hereafter and I will continue to do my utmost to worship, show gratitude to, obey, love and fear him.

Salafi preacher: We will see Allah’s face in paradise!

“The Originator of the heavens and the earth; He made mates for you from among yourselves, and mates of the cattle too, multiplying you thereby; there is nothing like unto Him; and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (Qur’an 42:11)

The faculties of seeing (tudriku) cannot grasp Him, and He grasp allseeing (yudriku), He is the All-Subtle and All-Aware.” (Qur’an 6:103)

“Allah has promised the believing men and believing women Gardens beneath which rivers flow. They shall abide in it. There are delightful dwelling places for them in the Gardens of Eternity. They shall, above all, enjoy the good pleasure of Allah. That is the great achievement.” (Qur’an 9:72)

﷽

My friend had his brother in law send him these clips by a preacher from the Salafi sect claiming people will ‘see the face of Allah’ in the paradise.

The preacher in the above video says:

“O Rabb, show Your Face.” “We want to look at You.” “So Allah (swt) Orders for the Hijab to be removed. And the Hijab of Allah Is Light (Noor).” “And you will see your Lord Like you see the sun at its noon Or the moon at its full. ” “There will be faces looking at their Lord. Looking so much so that Allah” (swt)

“May Allah makes us of those who will lay eyes On the Blessed Face of Allah” (swt)

You ever notice how these people talk about seeing the ‘Face of Allah’ ? Why don’t they ask to see the foot of Allah? Why don’t they ask to see the two right hands of Allah? Why don’t they ask to see the shin of Allah? Why would it be shameful to ask that? Does Allah (swt) have attributes that are shameful? Astaghfiurllah! Of course not!

When I asked this of a brother his response was:

“I guess because the face is considered to be the seat of beauty in human beings.”

Right! However,

There is nothing like unto Him; and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.” (Qur’an 42:11)

AS FAR AS ALLAH (SWT) REMOVING SOME HIJAB….WELL THINK AGAIN!

Curious to see more?

Like where Imam Shafi’i is reported to have said that if he knew he would not see Allah (swt) he would not worship him, even though Allah (swt) NEVER made that a condition of worshipping him.

Curious to see where our brothers play fast and loose with various text to get you to believe that you will see Allah (swt) on the day of judgement?

Allah (swt) has already told us what the great attainment is! It is not seeing his face!

Salafis debate Ibadis on the issue of seeing Allah in the hereafter.

“He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.(Qur’an 59:23)

﷽

The Salafis agreed to debate The Muslims, The People of Truth and Steadfastness, on the issue of ‘Seeing Allah in the hereafter‘. The Salafis are a people not very strong or grounded in theology.

Our noble Shaykh Masoud ibn Muhammed al Maghbali, from the Muslims debated with representatives of the Salafi sect. Professor Hossam Al-Jed from Egypt. Shaykh Masoud went to Egypt to represent the Muslims, while Professor Hossam Al-Jed represented the Salafi sect.

The full debate can be seen here:

Allah’s victory is in the creed of those whom he has purified. The Muslims, The People of the Truth and Steadfastness. The Professor read from his paper, but our noble Shaykh was confident with the arguments Allah (swt) supplied him from sound theology. All praises be to Allah (swt).

Indeed, the arguments for seeing Allah Almighty are weak.

Did Allah (swt) really reveal himself to that mountain? In the anthropomorphic sense that the Salafi claim?

He appeared in His true form?

Then where is he after this Transfiguration? Did he remain there or did he disappear?

Did he vanish?

Allah (swt) is the friend of the Blessed and Noble Messenger, Ibrahim who said in the same Qur’an:

“When the night overshadowed him, he saw a star and said, “This is my Lord!” But when it went down he said, “I do not like things that vanish.” (Qur’an 6:76)

Then they go against the apparent meaning of the verse:
“The eyes do not perceive him, and he perceives the sight, and he is The Gentle, The Expert.” (Qur’an 6:103)

So they interpreted the word that the eyes cannot see him in another sense contrary to what came in the linguistic dictionaries, where they interpreted perception by ‘encompassing’ as some type of victory for their scandalous and decrepit doctrine.

After these debates many from among the Arabs left the Salafi sect and entered upon the way of the Muslims, The People of The Truth and Steadfastness. The Salafi’s deleted videos. Their Professor Hossam Al-Jed from Egypt was demoted from Professor to ‘Student of Knowledge’. Well, in this case Shaykh Masoud ibn Muhammed al Maghbali is also a student of knowledge.

We continue to call them and all others to the way of the Muslims, To the doctrine of transcendence. For this is the safest and securest road.

May Allah (swt) Forgive the Ummah.

May Allah (swt) Guide the Ummah.

Salafi Shaykh Muqbil Al Wadi’i Hadith in Sahih Muslim on Seeing Allah is actually weak!

The faculties of seeing (tudriku) cannot grasp Him, and He grasp allseeing (yudriku), He is the All-Subtle and All-Aware.” (Qur’an 6:103)

﷽

Salafi Shaykh Muqbil Al Wadi’i Hadith in Sahih Muslim on Seeing Allah is actually weak!

So Imam Al Daraqutni had a commentary about these hadith. In his book he made notes about these ahadith. Than comes along this big hadith scholar from Yemen. This hadith scholar is from the Salafi sect. His name is Muqbil bin Hadi bin Muqbil bin Qa’idah al-Hamdani al-Wadi’i al-Khallali.

So he took the book written by Imam Al Daraqutni and he made his own notes.

He said about the hadith of Ziyada under Sahih Muslim about the hadith ziyada that the ahl jannah will see Allah (swt) in the Jannah. (Astaghfirullah)

Imam Muqbil al-Wadi’i As Salafi, says this hadith is mistake by Thabit Umani. In the chain, the sanaad.

No one else has ever made this claim other than Muqbil al-Wadi’i Only Thabit al Bunani says this hadith is from Suhayb

The words of the hadith from Shaykh Thabit Bunani only go up to Abdulrahman bin Abi Laylaa only!

It is not from Suhayb nor from the Blessed Messenger (saw).

The words go up to Shaykh Abdulrahman bin Abi Laylaa (only!)

And according to their statement the mistake is coming by Hamaad bin Salamah. For any Hadith that comes through the channel of this man be careful!

There are four students under Thabit al Bunani

  1. Hammad ibn Salamah
  2. Sulaymān ibn al-Mughīrah
  3. Hammad bin Zayd
  4. Hamaad bin Waaqid

So this Imam Muqbli is saying the hadith is in Sahih Muslim is either weak or outright fabricated! On this point he is in agreement with the safe road, The Muslims, the Ibadi school.

Dr. Muhammed Salah teacher of the Salafi Sect Lies about Moses Seeing Allah.

Say, “My Lord has only forbidden immoralities – what is apparent of them and what is concealed – and sin, and oppression without right, and that you associate with Allah that for which He has not sent down authority, and that you say about Allah that which you do not know.” (Qur’an 7:33)

And who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah ? Those will be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, “These are the ones who lied against their Lord.” Unquestionably, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.” (Qur’an 11:18)

﷽

It is wrong to lie about a messenger of Allah (swt) and to deceive the people in the matter of theology.

“Even in the case of Prophet Moses (Peace be upon him) Prophet Musa (alayi salam) begged Allah to see him. Because he could hear him. Now he wanted to see him. He said, and that is recorded in surah Al Araf My Lord allow me to see you. His Lord said, You will never be able to see me….in this life. But when he insisted He said: Look at the mountain if the mountain stands still then perhaps you can see me. And a mountain is definitely much more stronger and powerful than Musa and all the human beings. So Allah The Almighty did as follows: The ayat 143 of surah Al Araf So Allah The Almighty allowed light beam of his light to shine at the mountain, the mountain turned into dust. Full of thunder, it turned into dust, like shredded wool. Then Musa (alayi salam) upon seeing what happened to the mountain he fell unconscious and then when he came back to his consciousness he realized that he was mistaken when he insisted on seeing Allah The Almighty. I repent unto you, I shall not ask for that again.” -Dr. Muhammad Salah

There are quite a few things wrong here with what the Salafi preacher had said.

#1) No where in the Qur’an does Allah (swt) say, “You will never be able to see me in this life” as if to indicate you will see Allah (swt) in the next life. It simply says, ‘You will never be able to se me!’ These people will tell lies about Allah (swt) and go against the clear text of the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

#2) Actually what Musa (alayi salam) said was:

“Highly Exalted are You; I have indeed repented to you, and I am the first of the believers.

First of the believers in what?

Let us look at how various translations deal with verse in question:

“When Moses came at the appointed time and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “My Lord, show [Yourself] to me, so that I might see You.” Allah said, “You can never see Me. However, behold this mountain. If it remains firm in its place, then you will see Me.” As soon as his Lord revealed His limitless glory to the mountain, He caused it to crumble to dust and Moses fell down unconscious. After he recovered, he said, “May You be exalted in Your glory! I repent! I will be the first of the believers!(Qur’an 7:143)

Time to manipulate English translations based upon the theological bent one has!

“Never can you see me.”

“You can never see me”

Both of the above translations are correct. It is the one that Dr. Muhammad Salah uses as well. Except, that he added to what Allah (swt) stated with the “in this life.”

“You cannot see me” This translation can be understood as “You cannot see me now” Notice the absence of the word ‘never’.

“But when his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain.” Is the belief that Allah (swt) did reveal himself to the mountain.

“When his Lord manifested His glory on the mountain.” This is more sensible especially when consider that even the revelation of Allah (swt), the Qur’an could crush mountains.

“If We had sent down this Qur’an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and coming apart from fear of Allah. And these examples We present to the people that perhaps they will give thought.” (Qur’an 59:21)

What is the view of the Muslims, The Ahl Al Haqq Wal Istiqamah?

Well, dear reader, know that we Muslims put the Qur’an first. We do not attribute words and sayings to Allah (swt) that Allah (swt) did not say. This is a huge sin.

Musa (alayi salam) was aware of the impossibility of seeing Allah, but in asking for it he did not intend obtaining the impossible. He only intended thereby to hold back his people, who were stubborn in seeking it and made their belief in his Message dependent upon it.

“And recall when you said, “O Moses, we will not believe in you unless we see Allah plainly.” Thereupon the thunderbolt struck you while you were beholding.” (Qur’an 2:55)

It is obvious that these demands came before the Musa (alayi salam) approached Allah (swt). Musa (alayi salam) It is not difficult to see that this was a repeated request on their behalf, as the Qur’an mentions this in another place as well.

“The People of the Book demand that you make a book physically come down to them from heaven, but they demanded even more than that of Moses when they said, ‘Show us Allah face to face,’ and were struck by the thunderbolt for their presumption. Even after clear revelations had come down to them, they took the calf as an object of worship, yet We pardoned this, and gave Moses clear authority.” (Qur’an 4:153)

Now is it sensible to think that Musa would ask for the very same thing that they asked for and received the rebuke that they did for doing so?
By Allah, to allege such a thing is nothing other than to put Musa (alayi salam) among the despicable ones from among the Children of Israel and to lower him to the level of the ignorant ones.

The proof that Musa (alayi salam) was not asking for himself, is because Allah (swt) could have replied to Musa (alayi salam), “You can never see Me.” This would have been sufficient for a believer.

The proof is that the mountain was destroyed.

Who witnessed the destruction of this mountain? Do you not think people would notice the sudden destruction of a mountain?

If the following happened to Musa (alayi salam) “He caused it to crumble to dust and Moses fell down unconscious.”

What do you think happened to the children of Israel who witnessed this?

Thereupon the thunderbolt struck you while you were beholding.”

and were struck by the thunderbolt for their presumption

Notice after Musa (alayi salam) recovered he says, “”May You be exalted in Your glory! I repent! I will be the first of the believers!

Why did Musa (alayi salam) say that he will be ‘the first of the believers’ when he is already a believer? Did the incident prove that Allah (swt) can be seen or not seen? Was Allah (swt) seen? No! So Musa (alayi salam) was testifying that he would be foremost among those who deny that Allah (swt) can be seen.

This is the correct belief on the matter:

This is the belief of the Muslims, those who are upon sound theology.
